The Last of the Ramones Filorosso

The legendary Marky Ramone, one of the last players to the Hall of Fame "of the punk rock world and history of the Ramones drummer, will be at Filorosso Sunday, July 4, 2010, for one of only two stages of his Italian tour. With his new band, Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, is touring the world and, this July, there will be two stages Italian: Turin on 2 and 4 in Cosenza, organized by the community center self dell'Unical. With Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, Marky Ramone traces the careers of the Ramones' success with a live set of over 32 hit.

The Ramones were one of the most revolutionary groups in rock history. Although their career can not be totally identified with the evolution of the phenomenon "punk", it is recognized as the first and most responsible. The band's musical adventure began in New York in March 1974 when, for the first time, the Ramones performing live for a few unfortunate listeners. The band name was taken from a pseudonym for Paul McCartney and each component had replaced its vero cognome.

In this long period of time, the band has never changed, but rather refined, the successful recipe from the outset, have led to the lasting success: fast songs, simple and catchy, halfway between sparkling rock 'n' roll, garage and surf rock, some ballads by adding "pop" and some tasty covers, discovery and successfully reworked in a modern way. A minimalist rock'n'roll, having been taken and processed by some punk and new wave, caused far-reaching consequences: in their brilliant simplicity, in fact, their songs soon became a valuable prototype which was used to undertake many new roads in the rock.
The desire to create something new, took the form of a total questioning of the values \u200b\u200bshared within the rock mainstream, starting with the same icon in the "rock star": the Ramones introduced an "anti-look" that exaggerating the daily comic strip, became in turn an original look, consisting of leather jackets, t-shirts members, ripped jeans and tennis shoes, which seemed, in his grotesque appearance, make fun of everyone and everything. It was, however, not so much dell'irrisione of musical technique (which they did, but the Sex Pistols), but rather the deliberate refusal of some technicality that in the early 70's, became an end in itself at the expense of what at times can not be reconciled with it: the young rebel spontaneity, immediacy of communication, a willingness to entertain and have fun. The lyrics, the limits of verbal delirium, showed the total disengagement as the continued commitment of the band in the denial of the seriousness that befits a "real" musician, in a surreal atmosphere of the cartoon, the Ramones sang of youthful neurosis and insanity, the California sun, baseball bats and silly teenage love. Their battle cry was insane, "Hey, Ho, Let's Go!". Their slogan was the even more demented "Gabba Gabba Hey!". The password was only one: "Fun." Despite everything.

Although not the original drummer of the Ramones, Marky is the only member still alive the longest line up of New York-based quartet consisting of Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and, of course, Marky. Born in Brooklyn in 1956, Marky Ramone has played in several other rock bands in the New York punk scene, including the Richard Hell & The Voidoids, only to arrive in 1978, the Ramones, with whom he recorded immediately "Road to Ruin". Apart from a lapse of four years, was the official drummer Marky Ramones until their dissolution.
